Stressed. Is it Normal?
Panic, anxiety and stress all work to increase your blood pressure and heart rate. Standing typically causes a dramatic increase in a short time. Any physical activity can increase it as well. A full bladder, smoking, alcohol and being sedentary most of the time can increase your BP and/or HR. Here is the facts of BP levels:
120/80 or lower is normal blood 120 to 139 for the top number, or 80 to 89 for the bottom number is prehypertension 140/90 or higher is high blood pressure
Here is the low-down on HR:
New born and infants 100 to 160 bpm Children 1 to 10 years 70 to 120 bpm Children over 10/Adults/Seniors 60 to 100 bpm Well-trained Athletes 40 to 60 bpm
So, your HR isn’t so bad, unless like me you have already had a problem (see my profile).
Since you say your paniced a lot it is not suprising that your BP checks high, though it’s not really all that high. I don’t see this as a problem for you. This is just one reading. Several readings are required by a doctor (which I’m not) before they can make the diagnosis of high BP.
When I forget my BP med, my BP will jump to the High 120′s/High 80′S and my HR ranges from mid 70′s to upper 90′s.
With my med I get BP readings as low as 102/58 and HR as low as 57. But I’m in pretty good physical shape having lost 30-40 pounds and taken a job lifting heavy boxes for 10 hours a night plus lifting weights and cycling 3-4 times a week.
Exercise and proper diet are your best friends when it come to heart health. Your at a great age to develope the “good” habits needed for a long and healthy life.
For now, I think your fine. But you may want to see if your doctor can help with the Panic/Anxiety Attacks.
Wish you the best, Terry
